Handrail with LED strip

An LED strip milled into the handrail, so the light falls on the stair rather than in your eyes.

The light sits in the handrail

A groove is milled into the underside of the handrail and the LED strip is laid in it. The light falls onto the treads and along the wall – it does not dazzle anyone on the stair, and the stair is lit without fittings of its own.

Decide the power before the wall is closed

Power comes in through a bracket or at the end of the handrail. The end needs room for both the LED strip and the end detail, even when power runs through the brackets. So where the handrail starts and stops has to be decided before the cabling goes into the wall.

From a private villa to World of Volvo

In a private villa, a curved handrail with a milled-in LED strip replaced a white-painted board along the wall. At World of Volvo in Gothenburg, Henning Larsen's mass-timber building, the handrail along the curved balustrade has integrated LED lighting, which we supplied.
