The stair at home deserves more than a standard solution.

A handrail made to measure changes the whole stairwell. Here are some of the homes we have made handrails and balustrades for – find the style that suits you.

Winding stair with a dark handrail and white balusters in a bright home

Light and classic

White balusters, a warm handrail

A white-painted balustrade with a timber handrail is the most timeless thing we make. The timber brings warmth to a light stair, and the balustrade is made to the measurements of the stair you have.

  • White balustrade with a timber handrail in a stairwell with herringbone parquet
  • White balustrade with a timber handrail around a stair opening
  • White balustrade with a timber handrail along a gallery

Dark on light

A dark line along the stair

A dark handrail draws the stair as a line against the pale wall. Choose walnut, the darkest timber we work in, or black stain and lacquer on a lighter species.

  • Dark curved handrail along a white panelled wall in a villa stair
  • Dark handrail over white balusters on a winding stair
  • Winding stair with a dark handrail and white balustrade

Light

Light in the handrail

An LED strip milled into the underside of the handrail lights the treads in the evening, with no separate lamps on the stair. Decide on it before the cabling goes into the wall.

  • Dark handrail with a milled-in LED strip lighting a villa stair
  • Lit handrail seen from above along a winding stair

Curved

Follows the curve, all the way

On a winding stair, the handrail is what shows that something was made to measure. It is shaped to the stair's actual geometry, not the nearest standard radius, and we take the measurements on site ourselves.

  • Curved timber handrail over white balusters on a winding villa stair
  • Timber handrail following a winding stair up along the wall
  • Curved timber handrail along a bright stair

Leather

Soft in the hand

A round handrail wrapped in leather, stitched by hand around beech. Warm at first touch, and it darkens where it is actually used.

  • Black leather-wrapped handrail along a winding stair
  • Black leather-wrapped handrail with a brass end cap and bracket

Not sure what suits your stair?

Send us a photo of the stair with a few measurements. We suggest a handrail and balustrade and tell you what it costs – before you have committed to anything.

How it works

Three steps to a new handrail.

Measuring or installing yourself?

  1. Send a photo

A photo or a sketch with measurements is enough to get started. We reply with a suggestion and a price.

  2. We measure

For curved and made-to-order runs, we take the measurements on site ourselves.

  3. Made and installed

The handrail is made in our workshop in Herrljunga, and our own fitters install it.

Ready for a new handrail?

Tell us about your stair and we will take it from there. If you would like to feel the timber first, order samples.
